Terms of Service

Draft terms — review before go-live.

This page is maintained by PocketWealth and is a starting-point draft. It must be reviewed by qualified UK legal counsel (including FCA-appropriate wording once any authorised activity begins) before it is relied upon by customers.

1. About these terms

These terms form a legal agreement between you and PocketWealth ("we", "us", "our") governing your use of the PocketWealth app and websites at pocketwealth.uk, pocketwealth.co.uk and pwai.uk. They are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales.

By creating an account you confirm you have read, understood and agree to these terms and to our Privacy Notice.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be 18 or over and resident in the UK or EEA.
  • You must give accurate information at sign-up and keep it up to date.
  • You may only hold one personal PocketWealth account.

3. Your account & security

Keep your login credentials, device and any biometric unlock secure. Tell us straight away at hello@pocketwealth.uk if you think your account has been accessed by someone else.

4. Money, pots and yield

Balances shown in your Wealth Pool, Instant Rain pot and Time Lock pot represent money you have added to PocketWealth. Yield figures are illustrative AER rates based on published UK benchmarks and are not a guaranteed return.

  • Your capital is at risk if underlying market rates change or the yield provider fails.
  • Any FSCS protection depends on the arrangement with our banking partner and is described on our Regulatory & Risk page.
  • We can adjust rates, cap balances, or pause new deposits where we reasonably need to.

5. Sparkles AI — guidance, not advice

Sparkles is an AI companion that gives general money information and prompts. Sparkles does not give regulated financial advice, tax advice, or a personal recommendation as defined by the Financial Conduct Authority. Anything Sparkles says is guidance you can weigh up — the decisions are yours.

You must not rely on Sparkles for legal, medical, tax or investment decisions. For regulated advice, speak to an FCA-authorised adviser. Free help is listed on the Regulatory & Risk page.

6. Payments & Sparkles Pro

Top-ups and Sparkles Pro subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Sparkles Pro is £3.00/month or £34.00/year. You can cancel any time from the Stripe billing portal linked in your profile; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period and we don't pro-rate part-months.

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you have a 14-day right to cancel a new subscription; where the service has already been supplied for part of the period you may be charged for the portion used.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use PocketWealth for money laundering, fraud, or any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the service.
  • Prompt Sparkles to produce harmful, illegal, or clearly regulated-advice content.
  • Impersonate another person or bypass age or bot-verification checks.

We can suspend or close accounts that breach these rules, subject to your consumer rights.

8. Closing your account

You can close your account at any time from the Profile screen. We can close accounts on 30 days' notice, or immediately for serious breach, fraud, or regulatory reasons. We'll return any remaining balance to a verified UK bank account in your name.

9. Our liability

We're liable to you for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms. We don't limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else the law does not allow us to limit.

To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for loss of profits, business or opportunity, or for outcomes that result from decisions you make based on Sparkles guidance or displayed yield figures.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms — for example when regulation changes or we launch new features. Material changes will be notified in-app or by email at least 30 days before they take effect, and you can close your account free of charge if you disagree.

11. Complaints

If something goes wrong, email complaints@pocketwealth.uk. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 3 business days and resolve them within 8 weeks. If we can't, you may be able to refer the matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service once we become an FCA-regulated firm (see the Regulatory & Risk page for our current status).
